Nampa is the largest city in Canyon County — 123,220 people and growing more than 3% a year — and it has the widest range of roof ages of any city we work in. The June 27, 2026 storm hit Canyon County hardest: Caldwell and Nampa took the heaviest rain, streets flooded, and the county declared a disaster emergency. Does Nampa require a roofing permit?
Yes. Nampa's building department permits roof-covering replacements and inspects them, and we handle both. A repair that doesn't replace the covering generally doesn't need one.
How bad was the June 2026 storm in Nampa?
Bad enough that Canyon County declared a local disaster emergency. Caldwell and Nampa took the heaviest rain and hail, streets flooded as the hail melted, and Kuna and Middleton each got about an inch of rain. Any Nampa roof that's more than ten years old and was under that storm is worth a free look.
